I want to go where I’ve never been and I want to go often.
If you’ve made it this far, chances are you feel the same.
Sometimes that might be travel. Far away lands that excite your senses and make you realize the beauty of the world.
Sometimes, it might be closer to home. Exploring a new dish in the kitchen or a new hobby that intrigues you.
All of the above is what you’ll find here.
I’m Lindsay. A 38 year old with a passion for life, love, and adventure. And I love creative expression. Blogging is one avenue of that.
I’ve always been a big journaler. I actually have journals all the way back to when I was 8 years old. Imagine the laughter that ensues when reading about what shaped your world as an 8 year old! But recently, I noticed an alarming pattern. I read previous entries from 5 years ago and realized, if I’m being honest, I’m kind of at the same exact spot in life (and life goals).
This wouldn’t do.
I don’t want to wake up in my 40s and wonder where my 30s went.
So, this blog was born. I’ve got 3 years of my 30s left and I intend to make them awesome. Full of adventures and joy, but also full of forward movement and accomplishment. I intend to not only document my journey but also how my mindset changes over the passing years as well.
When it’s all said and done, this is just a diary. In a public format. But I feel that some of you might be like me and perhaps enjoy my journey being public.
Maybe you’re also feeling like your life is lacking creative expression.
Maybe you’re scared your life is passing you by.
Maybe you woke up one day and realized that you no longer do anything that you love to do.
Maybe you are tired of all the lifestyle blogs that make themselves seem like they are absolutely perfect and have all the answers.
Maybe not.
But if you feel at all like the above, keep reading. We’re in this together.
Expect to read about my journey (often times starting from scratch) about Style, Heart & Home, Life, and Musings.
That’s kind of vague, so let me dig a bit deeper.
HEART & HOME:
Home is where the heart is, right? So obviously, this category on the blog will be about all things that make me feel at home. Think kitchen adventures, hygge, my favorite decor, and maybe if we’re lucky, dome DIY Pinterest craft attempts.
Let’s be real though. I’m no Martha Stewart. Although I consistently think that I will become Martha Stewart overnight and I have the Pinterest boards to prove it.
You’ll appreciate this category if you find that we have similar decor styles, are on your own journey to a more hyggelig life, and/or if you are jealous of your friends’ cooking abilities and want to try your own hand at it.
Again, for those with more sophisticated tastes that are farther along on your journey, this may not interest you.
LIFE:
This is a pretty vague category, huh? It’s a catch-all for everything else so that my website navigation wouldn’t be too long. 🙂 Here you’ll find my travels (and OOOOHHHHH do I love to travel), my wonderful dog, Éirí (part German Shepherd, part Coyote. For real.), my fitness journey, new hobbies I’m exploring, relationships (friendship and otherwise), even financial goals. Anything that sparks my interest.
You’ll LOVE this section if you share any of the same interests or if you just want some entertainment! I can be pretty funny on occasion.
MUSINGS:
This category is a place to house my thoughts. I can actually be pretty philosophical at times. I love having meaningful conversations with friends and family and exploring deep topics over a glass of wine. I plan to discuss these topics here. Fair warning, you might not agree with things I say and that’s okay. I promise to be respectful to other opinions as I’m writing and if you’re following my blog, I would ask for the same respect. A difference of opinion is one of the beauties of the world. Life would be so boring if we all thought and felt the same way about things.
So there you have it, friends. Everything you’ll likely run across on my blog. If you’re still reading, you might want to know a bit more about me.
ABOUT ME:
I’m a Type 1 diabetic living in Austin, TX with my amazing coy-dog, Éirí. I’m a marketer & graphic designer by trade and an avid reader and Netflix watcher. I love traveling the world and learning about the cultures of the places I go. History and culture are super interesting to me. I’m all about the simple pleasures in life and the more I travel, the more I realize that’s what we all have in common. Love of family and friends, laughter, sharing food and drink with community, that truly makes every culture’s world go round. I’m an extroverted introvert. I am friendly and can have a conversation with a brick wall, but I also retreat inwards to recharge. I love being with an intimate group of friends and family equally as much as I enjoy being alone. I love to explore the world equally as much as I love being at home. I’m a walking contradiction, I suppose.
Now, please, tell me a bit about yourself. Head over to the contact page and email me. I’d love to get to know you better. Otherwise, pull up a cozy blanket, light a candle, and grab a cup of tea or a glass of wine (or whisky if you prefer) and dig into the blog.
I truly hope it feels good to your soul.
